Acceptable Use Policy
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It keeps Sendat safe and keeps mail from our users out of spam folders. Breaking it can lead to limits, suspension, or termination.
1. What you must not do
Spam and unwanted mail - Send email to people who have not agreed to receive it - Use purchased, rented, scraped, or harvested address lists - Send mail that hides who you are, uses a misleading subject line, or hides the sender - Send marketing mail without a working unsubscribe link and a real postal address, as laws like CAN-SPAM require
Fraud and deception - Phish, scam, or ask people for passwords, payment details, or personal data under false pretenses - Impersonate a person, brand, bank, or government agency - Register or send from domains designed to look like someone else's, such as a misspelled bank name - Forge headers or spoof senders
Harmful or illegal content - Malware, ransomware, or links to them - Content that sexually exploits children. We report it to authorities and end the account at once. - Threats, harassment, hate speech aimed at people for who they are, or content that promotes violence - Anything illegal where you live or where your recipients live
Misusing the Service - Interfere with, overload, or try to break into Sendat or other people's accounts - Resell Sendat or share your account or API keys with people outside your organization without our permission - Use Sendat to avoid blocks or limits placed on you by us or other email services - Send to addresses you know are invalid, or ignore bounces
2. Sending standards
- Get consent. Only send commercial mail to people who asked for it.
- Honor opt-outs. Remove anyone who unsubscribes within 10 days, or faster where the law requires.
- Follow the laws that apply to you and your recipients, such as CAN-SPAM in the U.S., CASL in Canada, and GDPR and PECR in Europe and the UK.
- Keep your numbers healthy. If your bounce rate goes above 5% or your spam complaint rate goes above 0.1%, we may review your account, slow your sending, or pause it.
- Warm up gradually. Start with small volumes and raise them over time.
3. Your domains
Only send from domains you own or control, and keep your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records in place. Do not add a domain that you use to impersonate or mislead others.
4. Reporting abuse
If you receive abusive mail sent through Sendat, email [email protected] with the full message headers. We review reports promptly and take action where our rules were broken. We cannot share an account holder's private information, but we will tell you when we have acted.
5. What we may do
If we think you have broken this policy, we may: 1. Send a warning and ask you to fix the problem 2. Slow down or limit your sending 3. Suspend part or all of your account 4. Terminate your account 5. Report illegal activity to the authorities and cooperate with investigations
We may act immediately and without notice when needed to protect people or the Service. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] and we will review it.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. See the date above. Material changes will be announced as described in our Terms.
